Starting operations in 1957 as the Japan Machinery and Metals Inspection Institute, JQA has been providing various services to support clients’ businesses as a fair and neutral third-party conformity assessment body.

Today, we are the certification body with the highest number of registered management system certifications in Japan, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. We are also one of the calibration bodies supplying national measurement standards to the industry and have the largest calibration scope for measuring instruments in Japan.

Furthermore, as a designated body for national and international regulations and certification schemes, we provide electrical safety testing and certification for electrical products, medical devices, and in-vehicle equipment; JIS Mark certification; testing and inspection of construction materials; and audit and evaluation of corporate activities aimed at achieving carbon neutrality and other goals.

In recent years, the global spread of digital transformation and green transformation has increased, creating a demand for new conformity assessments. To meet these demands, we are actively expanding into cybersecurity and sustainability. Moreover, to contribute to a safe and secure society, we participated in the standardization and certification scheme development for personal care robots with national research institutes and industrial associations; as the result, we issued the first such certificate in Japan and offer related services.
