The Gdynia Cultural Centre is a local government cultural institution established in 2004. It organizes or co-organizes numerous cultural events, including theater performances, concerts, festivals, workshops, poetry readings, and exhibitions. Most of these have become permanent fixtures in the City Events Calendar. The Centre collaborates with the Department of Culture and many other city institutions, working together to promote cultural life among children, youth, adults, and seniors.
Throughout its history, the institution has created numerous recognizable projects. The most important of these include Scena SAM – Scena Studenta, Absolwenta i Mistrza (Student, Graduate, and Master Stage), Scena 138, and W Kaczych Butach (In Kaczych Boots), which encompass professional and amateur theatre projects.
As part of the SAM Stage, young actors perform alongside professionals, who often serve as their teachers. To date, the stage has produced productions including "What's Going On?" directed by Tomasz Podsiadły; "Inscription" directed by Grzegorz Chrapkiewicz; "King Lear in Polish" directed by Krystian Nehrebecki, under the artistic supervision of Jerzy Gruza; and "Mayday. Run For Your Wife," directed by Dariusz Majchrzak.
At the end of each season, the Scena 138 Theatre Group prepares a performance that culminates the year's workshops. Among the productions are "Sleeping Beauty," "Cinderella," and "The Snow Queen," directed by Tomasz Podsiadły.

For five years, the Cultural Center has been inviting audiences to the Summer Stage in Gdynia. Orłowo Beach is a perfect place to spend an evening of culture. It hosts plays, concerts, and cabaret performances. The Cultural Center also publishes the "Bliza" Artistic Quarterly and manages the Gdynia Film Fund.
In the 2016/2017 season, the Cultural Center invites you to new performances: "Piusnio" directed by G. Chrapkiewicz, "Rybki. Historia miłość gdyńskiej" directed by T. Podsiadły and "Umowa o masterdzieło" directed by M. Bochan-Jachimek.
