SYNOPSIS: In 1981, Rini (Tara Basro) lives on the outskirts of Jakarta in an old house belonging to her grandmother, Rahma Saidah (Elly D. Luthan), with her mother, Mawarni Suwono (Ayu Laksmi), her father/Bahri Suwono (Bront Palarae), and his three younger brothers, Tony (Endy Arfian), Bondi (Nasar Anuz), and Ian (Muhammad Adhiyat). The story opens with the financial problems of their family who ran out of money to pay for their mother's illness. The disease was so severe that Mawarni was unable to move her body and only lay in bed. To call and ask for help, Mawarni had to ring the bell.

Rini's family made various attempts to get extra money, including dropping out of college and asking for royalties from Mawarni, who had a career in singing (famous for his song, 'Kelam Malam'), before finally falling ill for three and a half years without knowing the cause. However, his career has faded for so long that he no longer produces royalties. Tony is also willing to sell his motorbike and other personal items to help his family. The family's efforts to make their mother recover from her illness failed after Rini found her mother fallen on the floor of her room and taking her last breath.

At Mawarni's funeral, Rini's family was introduced to an Ustaz (Arswendi Nasution) and his son, Hendra (Dimas Aditya), who tried to help them in their time of mourning. With Mawarni's death, his father went to the city to earn money. Mawarni's death turned out to be the start of terror in Rini's family's house—they were visited by a figure who resembled their late mother. Grandma was found dead in Bondi, drowned in a well. In her grandmother's room, Rini finds a letter addressed to Budiman Syailendra (Egy Fedly), and Rini goes to deliver the letter to the flat where Budiman and Hendra live. Budiman told Rini that he was his grandmother's friend and he told her that his grandmother had not approved of Rini's parents' marriage because Mawarni was an artist and could not have children. Because of this, Mawarni was said to have joined a devil-worshipping sect in order to have offspring.

Meanwhile, Bondi, who is shocked after finding his grandmother's body in the well, begins to act as if he is possessed and wants to hurt his younger brother, Ian, after Ian is haunted by the spirit of his grandmother (who he sees approaching Bondi and trying to catch him by pretending to play hide and seek). . Tony, who was reading the Maya magazine given by Budiman which had an article about devil worshipers, talked about their mother's relationship with a devil worship sect and the possibility that their younger brother, Ian, would be taken by the sect after he was 7 years old, but Rini ignored him. After experiencing several scary incidents, they called the Ustaz to check their house, and they were advised to pray more. That night, while Rini was praying, she was terrorized by the ghost of Mawarni, which caused Rini and her siblings to run to the Ustaz's house, who was planning a recitation at their house the next day.

Hendra went to Budiman's flat after Budiman called him and gave him the article he wrote as a correction to the previous article. On the way home, someone made Hendra roll off his motorbike until he was run over by a truck. Local residents brought Hendra's body home and Rini found the article he was carrying. That night, Rini saw Hendra's appearance outside the Ustaz's house and he was almost pulled out while the Ustaz watched with fear and gave up because his son had died as a result of interfering with Rini's family affairs. Their father came and took them home, and then cried when he was told that their mother had died from drowning in a well.

When Rini was about to confront her father about the conversation her parents had had the night Mawarni died, Ian, who was urinating near the well, was pulled by his grandmother's spirit into the well. His father also saved Ian when the house experienced a poltergeist caused by his grandmother and the house was surrounded by Satanists who scattered saga seeds in the yard. Rini, Tony, and their father were locked in the stairwell while the father begged for forgiveness from his mother and wife. After Bondi saved Ian and thwarted Grandma's efforts (which also prevented him from being possessed again), the devil's servants left and the house was calm again.

The next morning, Rini's family was ready to move into the flat and waited for a car to pick them up, but no one picked them up until evening and the Ustaz came to apologize that he couldn't help them and accompany them to wait for the car, while waiting again. Ian's 7th year at midnight. When midnight arrived, Rini woke up and remembered Budiman's article that Hendra had brought and told it to Tony. While they are talking, Bapak is haunted by Mawarni and Bondi finds Ian speaking a foreign language while looking at the window (even though he was previously mute). Rini, Tony, Bondi, and their father hid in their grandmother's room and finally they found out that the living corpses from the cemetery had risen, and Rini's family found the Ustaz dead, having been stabbed and Ian walking into the crowd of living corpses with Mawarni.

The undead surrounded the house and entered through the kitchen door, only to be held back by the spirit of his grandmother, who apparently had been trying to protect them by trying to kill Ian. Budiman arrived and took Rini's family away. A year later, Rini's family has settled in the flat and they are approached by a neighbor woman (Asmara Abigail) who gives them a basket of food. The neighbor returned to his house and talked to Batara (Fachri Albar), and it was revealed that he was Darminah (the main antagonist in the original film)
